So will Netflix be added to costumers packages or will they have to take out new packages, so not free unless you renew at a higher price?

Thank you for your post and welcome back to our community.
The free Netflix offer is only available with certain Volt packages.
If your current package doesn't include this, you would need to subscribe to an eligible package yes.
Please contact the team and they would be happy to do a package review with you if you would like to discuss moving to a package that includes the Netflix offer.
They can be reached on 150 from a Virgin line or 0345 454 1111 from any other line.

I have a volt package 20gb (doubled) unlimited text and mins with 500 speed internet doubled to 1gig, phone weekends and TV most channels apart from sky sports / movies

That package does not look like one that would include free Netflix !
Think it is only with the Ultimate Volt package..
