Hi everyone,
I am a Virgin Media customer, recently started an 18-month contract. My partner (living separately from me) is also a Virgin Media customer, also recently starting an 18-month contract.
We are looking to move in together soon.My questions are:
1. If our new place of residence is serviced by Virgin Media, how would that work from a contract perspective?
2. Would either of us have to pay an early disconnection fee?
3. How would our accounts look after the end of it?
I am aware that if I move in to a new place of residence, just myself, and I take Virgin Media with me, then there is no early disconnection fee. However there is no answer to what happens if I move in with another person who is also on a contract!

If your new place of residence is serviced by Virgin Media then one of you does a house move, costs £20 if you keep your current services, the other will pay EDF. You will have a new account.
If your new place of residence is not serviced by Virgin Media then both of you will pay EDF.

That would be really unfortunate. Are you 100% sure one of us has to pay EDF?
Would be nice if someone from Virgin Media could also confirm exactly.

Welcome to our community forums and thank you for your query regarding your possible house move.
As mentioned by @Roger_Gooner, one of you can process a house move as seen here https://www.virginmedia.com/help/moving-home This would mean the other would have to disconnect services at their current address. Depending on the length of the current contract, you may be subject to EDF charges as seen here virg.in/EDF
Please let us know if you need any further help with this and we will do our best to help.
Thanks,
