Moving home = new contract?

I have been re-contracted after moving home but I did not make any changes to my package and was very clear that I don't want any new contract. Despite that, my direct debit has changed to a higher one and I received a new contract number with an additional 18 months without my consent and against my will.

Although it is always the case that moving home does require a new contract, the contract is for supply to a particular address not to an individual, assuming that you make no changes, what should happen is that the 'new' contract is adjusted to match the terms of the old one - ie monthly cost and, most important, minimum term end date.

It is this last process which seems to require manual intervention and sometimes gets 'overlooked'. In a day or so a member of the forum team will get to this thread, offer to contact you by personal massage to get some details and more likely than not, get it sorted out for you.
