Mental Health Help

Hello,

I'm trying to help my friend who has a Virgin Media account. He currently pays about £55 a month on a rolling contract.

He suffers from Bipolar Disorder, Boarderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, episodes of psychosis. He also self harms, suicide attempts and prescription overdoses etc. He can get very unwell, crisis team & police involvement, mental health sections, secure GP surgery etc etc.

He has fallen behind on payments and been cut off however he still gets charged every month. Virgin have passed the debt to BPO but continue to charge every month. BPO have been provided with all medical records and VM have been informed. They still will not allow him to cancel the rolling contract until everything is paid off, increasing the debt every month without providing a service.

They have made no reasonable adjustments (as far as I know) as required by the equality act and seem to have no knowledge of data controllers, subject access request processes etc when asking for account information.

Not sure if there is a specialist team that can deal with this? The standard collection team and customer service team simply do not care

Thank you.

Hey @MHGH, thanks for reaching out to us and a warm welcome to the Virgin Media forums.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues with the payments and the billing that has occured.
As this is not a fault - we would need to speak with the account holder for this unless you are registered as a Power of Attorney for the account holder.
If we can clear security then I will be able to arrange a call back with the account holder to get this sorted out.

I will send a private message.
Watch out for the purple envelope inviting you in.

Kind regards,
Ilyas.
