Loss of customer after 27 years

I have been a customer of Virginmedia for 27 years. Just notice that my package has increased from £46 a month to £85 a month. Tried to negotiate a reduction and was offered the same package for £82. When I refused I was referred to another colleague. He tried to reduce the broadband speed and take out some of the channels that I had. Interestingly the line was appalling and he couldn't hear me although the line with his previous colleague was fine. No agreement was reached and I have opted to leave and end my association with virginmedia. I note that in the letter that they sent me that new customers could get the same package for £39.50. What a way to treat a pensioner! Until the 30 day period is up I am paying an increase of 85%. Shame on you. I cannot recommend your service to anyone and I will go out of my way to tell anyone who listens how poor your attempt at customer service is. Good luck chasing new customers when you treat existing customers so appallingly. Don't lie about increases of 13.5% in your press releases. I know that to be untrue.
