How to get an answer on cancellations line

Hi, I have been trying to get hold of someone to cancel my virgin service. I’ve been out of contract a few months and can’t justify the cost anymore, especially in light of the service quality. When I rang and did manage to contact somebody, about a week or so ago, he was unable to give me any offer that made me want to stay. But he told me to ring back 8n a few days as the offers available change every day. 
since then, I have tried to phone on three separate occasions and have sat on hold for ages, without getting to speak to anyone. Tonight I’ve been on hold for 23 minutes before I’ve given up with a numb hand.
Any ideas as to how to actually get to speak to someone? Or an email address to use to give notice of my intention to cancel?

Sorry to see you've been struggling to cancel the services with us. 

 

If you would like to cancel the services this would require a call into our call centre on 0345 454 1111 and then select Option 4 and then Option 5 to speak to our retentions team
