Hi everyone. I've moved house to an area with no cable. I've called Virgin to cancel and thought I'd cancelled but still the monthly payments were being taken. So I wrote to the prescribed address on 28/12/19 cancelling but I see the monthly payments are STILL being taken. What do I need to do to cancel? The only thing I can think of is get my solicitor involved, but thought I'd just ask here first.
you can also talk to your bank - they should be able to refund wrongly taken payments under the DD guarantee scheme - but wait to see what VM say as if you cancel the DD or get payments back VM are likely to put a mark on your credit file and put any debt out for collection - they are friendly like that!
Thanks Tony, yes I am very reluctant to cancel the DD for the reasons you say.
Reading around, VM have a reputation for being difficult and obstructive about cancelling by phone and this has certainly been my experience, so I stopped trying and just wrote to them at NG2 3GG giving proper notice to terminate. If they continue to ignore me I'll engage my solicitor to deal with it as I don't want any credit record blemishes.
Anyway Gareth has picked it up now, so will hopefully this will be resolved shortly.
