Can I downgrade from one package to another without affecting contract length or discount?

Hi acdeag

Any regrade, either up or down will remove any current discounts and place you into a new minimum term contract.

Do some homework and look up prices for similar packages from other providers.

You should then contact either regrades or retentions (thinking of leaving) and see what price you can negotiate. Retentions  are generally based in the UK, and have a greater degree of knowledge and flexibility, along with a larger range of discounts than the front line agents.

Hopefully you can then negotiate a deal with them that's suitable to your pocket and needs in exchange for a new contract. Or failing that you can place a cancellation with that team if you decide to leacve for another providr, however if you are still in a minimum term you may need to pay early cancellation fees..

The quickest contact method is by calling either 150 from a VM landline or mobile, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone, call around 8am if possible when lines first open and are least busy.

You can also text VM on 0753 305 1809 or speak to the team on WhatsApp on 0730 532 7112 but phone calls take priority and these methods can take 4 to 6 hours.

Any promotional discounts you were offered, would have been on the basis of your keeping that package for at least the minimum term.

Breaking that contract may feature in how VM treat any future discount requests. I'm not saying they will - but it's quite possible.

Hi acdeag

Thank you for your post and welcome back to our community.

We can't do package changes over the forums, therefore we would recommend you call the team and they can discuss all the options with you and let you know if a downgrade without a new term is possible and what discounts etc are available.

Please call 150 from a Virgin Media Landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone.
