Consumer contract changes 'could save customers money

Broadband, TV and phone customers will be given the chance to avoid hefty price hikes when their contracts end under rules taking effect from Saturday 15th February 2020.

Sounds like good news for us then - FINALLY......!!

Re: Consumer contract changes 'could save customers money

Apart from getting the notification from Virgin about contract ending, I do not see them offering any different from what they do now 😞

Virgin Media have only pledged to look after their vulnerable customers  https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2020/02/end-of-contract-letters-to-start-for-uk-broadband-isps...

..they will now HAVE to do the following from tomorrow (Saturday 15th Feb'20) :

Ofcom says the new rules, which come into force on 15 February, could help consumers save £150 or more on their annual bills.

Service providers will need to text, email or write to their customers between 10 and 40 days before their contracts come to an end, giving details of:

the date their contracts can be terminated without penalty
the price they have been paying
any changes to the price or service that come into effect automatically after that date
how much notice they need to give to cancel the deal
the best alternative subscriptions on offer, including the prices charged to new customers

Re: Consumer contract changes 'could save customers money

COULD help customers save money 🙂

Give notice is all they will have to do 😞

Tell us about best alternative offer available - does not mean they will be having/making any for excisting customers.

Tell us how much new customers will pay - we can see that now on the website, they still will not be available for us excisting customers.
