Charged for activation

Hi,

I have just received my bill online for next month.

On there is an activation charge of £35, when I rang to

arrange this I was told there would be no charge.

I was given a credit reference number which the operator stated had been agreed with

his manager.

Could someone please look into this.

There have been some recent cases where an online order has stated "no install charge" or similar, and there's been an "activation charge" instead.

Were you adding a new service to an existing account? Or was this a brand new install? It'll certainly help to know the circumstances that have led to this.

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

It was retentions that had rang after I had cancelled.

I had to ring back on the number they originally rang from (Glasgow number)

about another query.

Hi there @SCH118,

Thanks for your post. I'm sorry to hear that you've seen an unrecognised charge on your bill. As mentioned by @japitts, although you may have had an Installation Fee waived, you may have also incurred an Activation Fee. These are standard charges and are seen in package changes which required new equipment.

So I can look into this further for you, I'm going to send you a private message to gather some details. Please look out for it in the top-right of the Forums, in the purple envelope.

Thanks,

Reece - Forum Team
