Cannot sign-in or register online to Virgin Media.

I joined in Dec 2020 and have been unable to log-in online to Virgin Media. I want to explore options to upgrade my service as I have found this disappointing compared to my previous BT account. I cannot get through by phone and I can get to the page where I am asked about virus and child safety settings, before being told on the next screen 'Sorry but we cannot register you now.' This is very frustrating and making me regret moving to Virgin.
