Cannot cancel account - no answer from Virgin

I am moving to a property that isn't serviced by Virgin, and I have been trying to cancel my Broadband for a week now. The online chat and the phone line never get answered. I've cancelled my direct debit with my bank to ensure no further charges will come my way, but I still want my account closed properly.

I'm posting here in the hopes that this can get sorted.

I am sorry to hear hear that you are having issues cancelling the service. 

Would you be able to contact the customer relations team on 0345 454 1111 options 1, 4 and 4 so that the cancellation can be processed?

Hi WDA, we would not recommend cancelling the direct debit as this is only the agreement with the bank and any missed payments could affect the credit file. We report to the credit reference agencies once a month and we would recommend keeping the payments up to date. You will find the ways to cancel the service listed here. We do not do cancellations over the forums and the fastest way to cancel would be to call the customer relations team on 0345 454 1111.
