Can't Cancel Broadband Package

Hi All, 

I have VM broadband at my flat. However I've moved out as of the 10th, and want to cancel my package as my new flat already has a package. 

I call the number and navigate the menus to cancel, and it tells me to go to the virginmedia.com/help site to cancel there instead. On the site it says to call the number I first called. 

I understand that right now VM has a lot of pressure on the call centres, but I need to cancel my account. I can't really afford to be paying for two broadband packages. 

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Edwin,

I don't have the answer, but I am having a very similar problem! I have now resorted to cancelling my DD - and I sent a complaint on the live chat in the hope I might get a response there...no luck. If I get a response to my question, I shall let you know.
