Can I give notice to cancel more than 30 days before end of contract?

My 30 days notice falls on in a period where I will be out of the country.

Before getting on the phone and sitting on hold to ask this, does anyone know if Virgin will accept me calling up before to say I want to cancel the contract and the end of this contract period or will they make me, some how, call them on the right day? Don't want to cancel early, just want the contract to end without me having to pay an extra month!

Thanks

Well that was the smoothest call I ever had with Virgin. 12 minutes and all do e so thanks for telling me I could do it at 60 days!

Only wrinkle was the gent who answered the call getting a bit snotty as I told him I was cancelling, didn't want to haggle a discount (one of the reasons for leaving was this, why not just give me the best price without me having to call every year...just like insurance companies) and not giving him the name of the ISP I am moving too.

He got a bit snotty and then just put me through to a young lady who did the cancellation in minutes.

Thanks for coming back to us RyanC, I'm sorry to hear of the way the agent spoke to you, I will be sure to feed that back but I'm glad that you have been able to get your disconnection raised. Please let us know, if you have any further issues.

Kind Regards,

Knows their stuff

In other posts Virgin have given the period as three months.

In law you can give notice of cancellation at contract end at any time during the course of the contract - not a consideration for Virgin of course - they are far too important
