I received an email today to my personal email address confirming the set up of a new account for a person I do not know and at an address I do not know. It was sent from a verified Virgin email account.
im very concerned that I could be the victim of some kind of fraud, I tried ringing customer services but the overseas staff did not seem to have a clue how to handle it nor provide me any comfort that this was just a case of a wrong email address. They’ve told me they’ve submitted a form and I should hear back at some point.
Anyone else encountered this? If nothing else it is a breach of GDPR as they’ve provided me with personal details of another person in the contract.
