150 pounds bill on the old tenant's account who's service was cancelled

Hello,

My old flatmate moved out of our flat 2 months ago. Since we hadn't lived for 6 months together, Virgin told us that the old service would be disconnected, and I was advised to set up a new account.

Therefore I called Virgin to open a new account. In order to do that, Virgin called my old flatmate to ask him to cancel the old service. After he confirmed, the old service was cancelled, and I paid 80 pounds to set up a new account.

However, my old flatmate told me that he recently received a bill of 150 pounds because of the contract change. We were shocked as we were never informed of any extra charges when switching the service. Could anyone please explain this? Thank you very much.

Best wishes,

Bai

Re: 150 pounds bill on the old tenant's account who's service was cancelled

if he was still in contract he would have to pay the EDF to cancel.

Not really anything anyone can really do to help you as you are asking about someone else's account. If anyone tells you anything about the account or billing it would breach GDPR
