my landline has not worked for months. I have bought a corded phone and plugged it into the main jack behind the BT Plate but still nothing. Checking service says no problems in my area. I've put off contacting you because it's always so complicated. What should I do now

Can I just check, when you say the phone is not working do you mean there is no dial tone?
Have you tried more than one handset at this connection?
