no landline. second time in a week

No landline.  Just a few days after similar problem (line cord error). This time,  nothing from landline at all.  Tried different (new) handset but same nothing.

Virgin engineer fixed last time at the street level network box (problem not in our home or with our outdoor cabling). 

Can't book visit online (no slots available) and phone delay reported to be >45 minutes.

Hopefully just the rainy weather causing problems... but not happy....

Problem now solved by converting phone to fully digital - from back of router.  If you suffer from the "line cord error" problem and have a traditional phone socket,  might be worth asking to get yours changed.  Virgin engineer reported that this is how they do new installations anyway.  Only minor risk is that the phone and broadband are on same "line" so if broadband goes down, so does phone.
