If you can explain what the problem is, it is likely you will get some help on here (either from the VM forum team or from other forum members).

Sometimes we receive calls and sometimes we don't.  Sometimes it rings once, sometimes three times then stops.

I can make outgoing calls but not always receive calls.  Callers report that when they ring the phone either continues to sound as though our phone is working but isn't answered and doesn't go onto our answerphone.  Alternatively, they report they just get a noisy crackle.

We don't know whether the fault is with our phone or with the line.    Hopefully someone has some suggestions as to how we resolve the problem.

Is your VM landline provided via a traditional telephone master socket on the wall or via a telephone connection from the back of the VM hub (the TEL1 socket)?

Hi TP29,

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the Community.

I am very sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your landline service, we will do all we can to help.

Can you please confirm if the phone is connected to the Hub or the master socket?

Can you also please check if all cables leading to and from the equipment are secure and without damage?

Please let us know.

Thanks,

Nat

The connection is in a socket in the wall.  All indoor cables seem to be undamaged and secure

Thank you TP29.

I would like to take a look at things from my side so I am going to pop you over a private message to take a few details.

This will be available via the purple envelope on the top right of this page.

Speak soon,
