landline constantly ringing, buzzing on line

Over the past 2 weeks, there has been an issue with our home phone line. When there is a handset connected the phone constantly rings and when we pick up the call it is just constant buzzing/white noise. i have searched for a 'live chat' on the virgin website but can't find a link and the fault finder just sends you round in circles. is there anything I can do from this side? or does an engineer need to attend?

I'm sorry to see you are having issues with the buzzing noise on your landline, This is certainly something we can help with. Just to confirm, is this the service page here that you have been having issues with?

the service status checker didn't show any faults and the help page doesn't seem to have any fixes.
