home phone not working

My home phone isn't working. All calls out have an engaged tone, all in coming calls go straight to voice mail. Virgin media remote technicians can't fix it, level 2 raised a ticket,  8 days later, still nothing and apparently I have to wait another 5 days because I didn't pick up a call persumably made to the line that isn't working!  it wasn't to my mobile. Is there anyone out there who knows  how to get this fixed?

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

Sorry to hear of the phone line issue. I have checked the system for you today and this was raised to the faults management team after we were not able to resolve it whilst on the original call you made. This normally has a resolve date of three working days but this one is more complex than usual. It's still with that team who will contact you when it's resolved.
