Hi tonystaf,

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome back, sorry to hear your landline is making a crackling noise and that all checks, including trying a different phone remain the same.

Are  you connection Via the old wall socket or via our Router with an adaptor?

If you are connected Via the Router, when advising you have tried a different phone, is this a separate phone or part of a set?

Regards

Paul.

connected via a router. it's a single phone

Thank you for advising, can you try plugging the phone in the other socket on the adaptor to see if this helps, if not try a pin reset  on the Router, push a pin/ paper clip in the reset hole at the back of the Router, keep it pressed in for a full timed 1 minute, once done allow 15 minutes to settle.

Regards

Paul.

we  have not been given an adaptor

an engineer switched us over to digital last week

If you have been switched an adaptor will be plugged into the Router at the top, the phone will be plugged in there, there is 2 ports on it, try the other port, if still the same then try the reboot.

Regards

Paul.

the other port does not function, the engineer said the cable should in the top port. did a reset no change in the line disturbance. looking at other posts an external cabling issue was identified. perhaps an engineer is required

I will be more than happy to arrange a technician for you however if this is an issue with your equipment there will be a £25 call out charge.

I will send you an invite into a private chat, once received click on the white envelope to accept.

Regards

Paul.

nothing has changed following last week's engineer visit, what equipment could be wrong
