I have a hub 5x but unable to get a landline from VM as it is not an option when I ordered broadband, it says in the settings it is disabled, if I subscribe to Vonage & get the adapter will it work, anyone know, what will happen when BT stop using copper for landlines?

my landline is with Sky & want to keep my number

We have 3 Sipgate numbers running over a VM Hub (since 2017) , it all works fine and is a proper VOIP / SIP service working on Cisco kit, best of all is not part of the VM bundle so we can run on any ISP or even via an app on mobile phone.

Just make sure you fully understand the telephone number porting process requires the Sky phone number to remain in service with Sky until it ports to Vonage. Once Vonage process your number port instruction, Sky will then automatically close the phone line account.

It is especially important to be careful if the current Sky bundle is say Internet + Phone.  Cancelling part of a bundle can often cancel all of the bundle resulting in a lost phone number.

Yeah all the various VOIP services like Vonage, Sipgate and A&A should work fine. Just use a normal ethernet port not a phone one.

Yes I’m still with Sky for landline & broadband plus VM broadband which is a lot faster, so if I port my landline first to let’s say Vonage, I’ll be able to keep my number & will Sky cancel the broadband as well do you think?

Yes & Yes.

Thanks, I’ve had VM for 2 weeks now, no issues, even if I wanted to cancel I’m out of the cooling off period, mines a 1 gig 18 month contract £45 a month
