VOIP on Hub 3

I'm considering adding a telephone to my existing VM broadband package.  Having looked into it I understand the telephone connection is now made to the Hub rather than a separately wired telephone socket  However, if my Hub 3 is only used as a modem rather than a router will it still operate a telephone connection or does the Hub have to be used in router mode ?

It can be in modem mode. The separate telephone sockets on the back of the Hub 3 will still work as long as the Hub is powered on.
