I switched from SKY to Virgin Broadband on 6/11/20. I was told it would take 10 days to port the number and it was ok to cancel Sky on 23/10/20. Lo and behold number was never ported. I even contacted VM on 22/11/20 but the engineer could not get hold of the manager incharge of porting. He did promise to ring back the next day but did not. Apparently the correct paperwork had not been raised.Made more phone calls then did get a message to say number word be ported 10/12/20 (on 30/11). on 5/12 got a messsage number can't be ported as I had disconnected from current provider. I was then told it takes 14 working days to port. I need the number as I have had it since 1974. How can I proceed as VM says they can't do anything.
Just spoke to BT. We can only speak to them if we have account or sign up for 24 months!!! How ever, he said Virgin can request the number themselves from them, so as the number was not ported in time (by tehm), why can't they request my specific number as it is in a quarentine list at the moment. ONLY THEY CAN MAKE THE REQUEST,
