VIRGIN ROUTER PHONE TO CONVENTIONAL BT LANDLINE

Why can't I make outgoing calls via my virgin router to a BT conventional landline telephone number, whereas they can phone me OK. I assume there is a problem when the virgin Internet-based telephony system interfaces with the existing BT landline exchanges?

Re: VIRGIN ROUTER PHONE TO CONVENTIONAL BT LANDLINE

Hello GROBTIV,

Thanks for your post.

Sorry to hear about the issues you are having with our Fibre line and being unable to make calls to BT Numbers.

This is a new issue I haven't been made aware of.

What I would like to do is look into this in a bit more depth for you.

If you don't mind, I will need to send you a private message to pass security.
If you can check the purple envelope top right of your screen that would be great.

Re: VIRGIN ROUTER PHONE TO CONVENTIONAL BT LANDLINE

Just as an update, the problem now appears to have been resolved and normal service resumed! Hopefully never to return.

My thanks to Gareth for his help on this one. I suspect the problem lay with the BT landline exchange rather than the Virgin system  but who knows.

Whatever the cause thank you Gareth

Re: VIRGIN ROUTER PHONE TO CONVENTIONAL BT LANDLINE

Hello GROBTIV.

Thanks for the update. Great news the faults has now been fixed.

I would also like to thank you for the Perth Exchange information.

It made our job a lot easier.

If this happens again, please let us know.
