Transferring a telephone number between VM accounts

Good afternoon,

Hope somebody can help - despite assurances from the Customer Relations Team we are still at a loss to understand why VM cannot transfer our phone number from one account to another.

Is this the only forum through which to progress or is there a number we can call ?

In order for me to clarify, can you please confirm if the number is related to a home phone line or mobile contract?

Morning Nat,

The number is home phone number [MOD EDIT: REMOVED]

The number is in Area 22 and was on Account Nr [MOD EDIT: REMOVED]

James in Customer Relations Team took a call on the 11th Sept closing that account & arranging for transfer of number by 11/10/20

New Account is Nr [MOD EDIT: REMOVED]

A VM colleague took a call on the 4.11.20 and advised that transfer would be made today, the 12th Nov '20.

We were then advised by text that "previous provider had disconnected the number" …...Virgin Media were that provider ??????

Thank you for removing info from public forum ….. I won't bore youwith my views on communication issues with VM...it is what it is !

The original account was closed in September '20 when refurbishment works were complete & our move was confirmed - the new account was created in Jan '20 as it was the only way we could get VM to install wiring into the ongoing refurbishment of our new home.

if the phone number was cancelled and your new services not setup until 4 months later its unlikey the number can be recovered as it will of been closed and put back into the number pool to be realocated.

For security reasons numbers can not be picked and must be assigned at random
