Hi, If I want my existing master and extension phone sockets to work after switch to fibre, am I right in thinking that new wiring will be required to link them, or can the existing wiring which is run below the floorboards be modified?
Thanks for any advice

Shouldn't make a difference. Once the old line coming in from the street is disconnected from the old master socket, VM seem to use an adapter cable (an example is shown at message #9 below)

to 'backfeed' from the TEL1 socket on the hub and into your nearby phone socket. Since your phone sockets are already linked together, this should mean they then become connected to the TEL1 socket on the hub.
There are probably other ways of doing it but this seems to be the method which is mentioned regularly on here.

VM needs to disconnect the old line coming in from the street to the old master socket and then make a link between the TEL1 sockt on the VM hub and one of your old telephone sockets. If you happen to have an existing phone socket near to the VM hub, the job is made easier.

Hi Goslow
Thanks for the quick reply, I have a socket just below where my hub is, not sure if it’s a master or slave socket, but assuming it makes no difference. Is that correct?
Many thanks
