Hi I activated my new virgin account on 6 November.  When I signed up I indicated I wanted to keep my previous landline number but this has not yet transferred.

Please advise

Thanks

It can take a couple of weeks for a number port (as it is referred to as) to be implemented. But have you already ‘cancelled’ your account with your previous supplier or given them notice? Unfortunately doing this can usually stop the number port from happening and the number is eventually recycled back and lost.

Hi, it has been 2 weeks and I've had no information from virgin about the transfer.

No I've not cancelled my with my previous provider as I am waiting for the number to transfer

Thanks

Hi angiemc83,  thanks for the message and welcome to the forums.

I am sorry to hear that the landline has not been transferred and will send you a private message so that this can be looked into further.

Kind regards, Chris.

Unless you have TV services with your old provider you don’t need to cancel anything. The number port will automatically close any existing Phone & Broadband account as they cannot operate without the allocated number.
