Telephony Disabled

I received a new router a number of days ago which i duly installed as directed and I also connected my home phone as per my previous set up - 4 days later still no dial tone.  I have just checked my Hub 3 Router Settings and ran diagnostics tests and noted that Telephony is disabled. Is this something I can enable or do Virgin need to enable?  This issue is presently with their tech support but i wondered if this is the root cause.
