Swith to fibre phone

I have received messages about the switch. My phone is in the lounge, the hub in the study some distance away. I don't have a wireless phone, it's plugged in the lounge where we can hear it, we can't hear it if it's in the study. Will I have to buy a dual phone that is linked wirelessly? and if so will VM compensate me for the cost?

Re: Swith to fibre phone

Thanks for your post on our Community Forums @harvest99,

We wouldn't usually issue credit for a customer who is seeking to replace equipment.

Would it be feasible for the hub to be moved to a more appropriate location for the landline services?

Kindest regards,

David_Bn

Re: Swith to fibre phone

I don't think this is possible as the hub is connected by ethernet cable to my PC in the study (the pc has no wireless capability)

Re: Swith to fibre phone

Sadly I would have to advise that there wouldn't anything else we could offer as a possible solution, and it may be a case of needing to purchase an alternative handset that is more appropriate for your set up

Re: Swith to fibre phone

We hardly use the landline, I think I will be better off cancelling it now.

Re: Swith to fibre phone

You're welcome to give our team a call on 0345 454 1111 to process this.

I would however advise that eventually all providers will be switching to landline services via the hub and you may have to bite the bullet and purchase new handsets eventually

Kindest regards,

Re: Swith to fibre phone

I don't think I will need to do that if we just use our mobiles instead of a landline.

Re: Swith to fibre phone

That's another alternative, our team will be willing to cancel the landline services alone if you wished to take that route instead

Is there an existing phone socket next to the hub in the study or quite nearby?
