If my landline is switched to the fibre network, does that mean that my existing phone line will be  physically disconnected? What if I want to move to another provider that still uses phone lines?

Hello

Switching to using the hub for the phone line will not affect switching to another provider. You would still have a physical line it is just the way the phone line is provided, all providers are switching away from the old style of cabling by the end of 2025, basically it means that you phone line will be provided by the internet connection, there is one disadvantage to the new system in that if your broadband is down or your hub is off then there is no phone line.

Hi TC52,

Welcome to the community and thanks for getting in touch with us here with your query.

Your landline will be disconnected from the network and the connection via your broadband but the physical socket won't be removed from your home.

You are free to transfer your number to any providers.

Regards,
