Switch over need new phone

Tuning in

Virgin came Saturday 2nd Dec.plugged phone into hub.No ring tone on home phone.Informed it would work in 2 hours. Tuseday 5th Dec virgin came again as still no ring tone.Informed have to buy a new phone because HUb does not give out enough power for phone to ring?????I can phone out but not receive calls.

If VM fails to come up with a suitable extension lead, you should be able to pick one up locally.

You would use the extension lead in conjunction with your new ringing capacitor adapter.

An important point to note with any extension lead though is that it needs to have 4 wires internally.

In the B&Q image, for example, you can see 4 metal pins showing on the BT plug in the picture if you zoom in the image

You need the 4 wires to carry the ringing signal from the adapter to the phone.

A cheaper 2 wire extension extension cable will not carry the ringing signal from the adapter and you will be back to the beginning again with a phone that does not ring!

(If you do get one locally, double-check the 4 wire connection as the images shown on websites don't always match up with the actual product that is handed over!)
