I thought I should have been told that some phones could have a compatibility issue when the switch over takes place.I wonder how many know that you are advised to keep the hub on at all time.According to the experts this will cost more. on our annual electric bill

Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.

If you do experience issues with an alternative handset, let us know.

The engineer left with the phone not working.Still no dial tone.He told me hub does not give out enough power to make phone ring.Suggested I should buy a new phone. But not sure if new phone will work.I cannot afford a new phone

If he advised that I would look into getting a voip phone.

Not every phone is compatible with the new VOIP line, also we are turning the copper lines off so we couldn't even put you back on that list sorry.

We understand it can be frustrating and we are sorry for any trouble caused.

You do not need a VOIP phone as advised above. That is a totally different kind of device.

You may (possibly) need to buy a new ordinary/domestic telephone though, one which does not rely on the ringing capacitor.

What exact model of BT Duet phone do you have?

It should probably be printed on a sticker on the underside of the base of the phone.

This page may also help you identify Duet model numbers.

Hi thank you for your reply. No sticker on phone but your helpful pictures were good.Phone is Duet 210

Have you checked with the manufacturer to see if it can be compatible with this?

A search online should show. Cheers

There have been mixed results for the Duet range when used with the ringing capacitor adapter. You will have to try the adapter and see if it restores ringing. Success was reported in this topic for a Duet 500 model so you might be lucky

The Duet 210 model still seems to be available so it is surprising it does not work (although the model has been around for some time).

How long ago did you buy the phone?

Have you tried changing the ringer volume switch to a different postion to see if you get any ringing sound (High or Low settings)?

Does the light on the back of the handset flash to show an incoming call (just without the ringing sound)?
