Scam caller using a VM number

I've received a scam call this morning which is using a Cardiff area VM number - 02920318021. It's a recored message - along the lines of "Your £80 subscription begins today, press 1 to speak to someone." No indication was given about what/who this "subscription" related to.

Since it's a VM number, can VM block it?

Re: Scam caller using a VM number

Hi @madoldbat,

Thank you for your post and welcome back to our community forums. We're here to help.

I'm sorry to hear that you're getting some nuisance calls that you're unfamiliar with. It's not a number that I recognise, so I don't believe that it would be a representative of Virgin Media contacting you. Did they call you on your Virgin Mobile handset or your Virgin Media landline?

Thanks,

I received the call on my VM landline.

Re: Scam caller using a VM number

I should probably also have added that my number's registered with TPS.

Re: Scam caller using a VM number

Hi @madoldbat,

Thank you for expanding on this. You can find more information here regarding what to do regarding nuisance calls being received on your Virgin Media landline.

Thanks,
