SMS and Landline

Hello

Hope you're all good and ready to restart life.

I've deactivated my voicemail for my landline a while back. I have a device that has one, so I thought I would not need two voicemails. I did however noticed that SMS is not received on the landline anymore. (Yes, it's a thing and yes you can receive them).

They do not appear on the screen but rather you're getting a call and a robot reads them out loud. I'm not sure if those two (Voicemail and SMS service) are related, but the only thing different that I did was to deactivate it via the Community Forum/Customer Service.

Do you think that's the cause? Can I get SMS service back without the Voicemail? Any solutions whatsoever? Someone else dealt with something similar?

Thanks and regards,
Alexander

Re: SMS and Landline

Good Afternoon AlexanderMTTH,

Thanks for your post on our Community Forums and a very warm welcome to you!

Sorry to see you've been having issues with receiving SMS messages on the landline. Has this issue been resolved or is it still on going?

If still on going, can you tell me when you switched the voicemail off on the handset and when you noticed a change to the format of the SMS messages being delivered?

Kindest regards,

David_Bn

Re: SMS and Landline

Hello David

Thank you for your response. The issue is still ongoing. The delivery is stoped at the sender's side.

I switched off the voicemail from your systems, by asking one of your colleagues to do it. So it's the system itself, I believe rather than the device.

When an SMS is being sent, this is not accepted/send from the sender. This used NOT to be the case prior to my amendment.

Please let me know what you think. I appreciate it.

Thanks and regards,
Alexander

Hello AlexanderMTTH

Let me ask a few questions about this for you

I will be honest its a bit of a strange one to actually fix

But I will see what we need to do to get this fixed

Hello again AlexanderMTTH

I never realised that in order to receive SMS Message you need Voicemail set up again

I can activate this for you and its takes 48 hrs to be working again

Re: SMS and Landline

Hello Gareth

Apologise for my absence. It was not on purpose, I just didn't receive the notification for this thread.

I understand - so the only way for the SMS to be received is if the VM is set from the system.

Would be ever so kind to activate it, then, and let me know what I need to do?

Thank you for your devotion to this issue.

Kind regards,

Alexander MTTH

Thanks and regards,
Alexander

Hi Gareth,

Thank you yet again. 🙂

This is what I was using and needed to keep using.

I was looking in this manual, but for the life of me if I could've find it.

Thank you for your messages - looking forward to having this functionality up again.

Thanks and take care,

Alexander MTTH

Thanks and regards,
