SIM card not active

Hi,

I have received a new SIM card, however; it is displaying Emergency Calls Only. I have ensured that all the network settings are correct and tried the SIM card in another device to no avail. 

Please can a member of the  pick this up and rectify this.

Thanks for posting, I'm sorry to hear you've some issues with the new SIM. 

 

Is there any change since your post on Wednesday?

 

Have you tried the SIM in a different handset?

Hi Alex,

Thank you for your response,

The issue was that the SIM card that Virgin Media sent out to me was not activated hence why the handsets that I tested the SIM card in would not connect to the network. I am pleased to confirm that after speaking with Customer Services they were able to manually activate the SIM card and the service is now working.

I read awhile back that Virgin Media were deactivating all PAYG SIM cards however; I am unable to find any reference to this now, does this mean that Virgin Media has now postponed deactivating all PAYG SIM cards? If this were to happen again in the future would all Customers receive a notification prior to their service being disconnected? 
 
I should be most grateful for your clarification on the above points.

Great to hear you've got it sorted 🙂

 

In regards to the PAYG SIM, due to the ongoing pandemic we have no further updates, if/ or when this would occur you would be notified if you're affected.
