I have created a new thread with your post as the one you added to is closed.
As long as there is no cancellation request on your BT line, you can just contact Virgin & they will port your number across to your new Virgin line & cancel your BT account. You need take no further action other than contacting Virgin, & don’t need to contact BT to give notice.
