Porting landline issues

Hi, I'm due to get virgin installed next week

I keep getting texts stating I need to provide the correct details. As it turns out BT have the wrong postcode against my phone number, always have. They don't appear willing to change it.

Speaking with a few different virgin agents I've got different I formation.

1. Bt need to change it

2. We can request it on the wrong postcode

3. It will still change

4. Im just being ignored. 

Facts are, I need help, and if not, I need to cancel virgin asap as I can't afford to lose that phone number. 

 

I have been given one porting request number, but I have no way of checking the status of it and I'm at my wit's end.

The undue stress caused over this has really not been worth it. 

Can someone assist with clear, written information to me to help or can I be directed who to go to to cancel this whole thing please? Note my mobile number has already been ported across so I'd rather continue with virgin, but as said previously, I NEED to keep my landline number
