Port BT phone number to existing VM phone

The VM help pages for landline just says that you will be asked about porting your BT phone number to VM at the time of installation - my VM phone was installed some  years ago and now I want to cease my BT phone and have the number ported over to my VM phone but cannot find a link to do it - I did go through the chat bot but it could not help me.
