Wondering if it's possible to port my current BT landline number over to Virgin Media as I'm currently paying BT to effectively reserve the number but get landline included in my VM package (no point paying for both!). No useful information on the VM website and I'm not prepared to get lost in the minefield of automated helpline calls (been there, done that!).
My contract started over six months ago so missed the normal opportunity to port when first starting the contract, hence asking now.
I've seen some "horror" stories of ports to VM going wrong or not happening and numbers being lost - the BT number is sentimental to me so don't want to end up losing it if something goes wrong though!
Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome, we understand in this climate it doesn't make sense paying twice for the same service, we can bring your current BT number over to us, I will be able to help get the ball rolling for you, I will send you an invite into a private chat, once received click on the purple envelope to accept, I will then be able to take some further details and get your Number Port arranged, once we do this it can take 10 working days, the BT line must remain active, once we take the number this will close the line down, you can find out more around porting from BT to Virgin Media here.
Thank you for joining me in a private chat and for clearing security, as advised your request to bring over your BT number has been actioned and will go ahead within the next10 working days, please keep the BT line open and do not cancel, us taking the number will close the line down, if in contract with them you would need to speak to them, I have also arranged your Adaptor for our Landline Switchover.
Once you receive the Adaptor just follow the instructions, If you need any further help/ support with this or anything else, please do not hesitate to reach back out.
