Phone switchover to fibre network

Hi, I understand that I will be receiving and adapter to allow me to connect my home phone to the hub. My question is that I have a number of phones in the house. 3 are a set with one being the master which is connected to a phone socket. The other two are connected to separate  phone socket in two separate rooms and one of these is the old fashion dial phone i.e. not digital.

How is the hub connected to the existing cabling in the house to feeding the phone service to the phones that are connected to a phone socket

Re: Phone switchover to fibre network

Hi there @ingasos, thanks for your post.

When the switchover is taking place this either done as a remote switch over where the adapter is sent to you or manual where an engineer can be sent to change this for you.

If you have multiple handsets generally only the one will need the adapter unless your set up means that there is multiple sockets.

I think it would be worth checking your details to see what switchover is taking place as well as when so if you do need an engineer I can arrange this.

I'm going to send you a PM to confirm your details.

Regards

Nathan

Also worth noting that your phone with a dial may not function if it relies on pulse dialling (i.e. has not had a conversion to tone dialling) and also may not ring for an incoming call unless there is a suitable connection with a ringing capacitor somewhere in the new arrangement of connections.

Re: Phone switchover to fibre network

Hi,

it's an old phone which is the same as the ones used in the old Space 1999 tv program. It does have pulse dialling, so I know it won't work to make outgoing calls, but I'm hoping that it will still work for incoming calls. It does have a separate ringer so hopefully that will work.  It's a bit of a collectors item.
