Phone number already in use

I requested to keep my existing phone number from my previous supplier but on the day the engineer said that this would take weeks to sort and that he could set me up with a brand new number.  The trouble is that this number is already in use by an advertised removals firm! We are constantly getting unwanted calls which is hugely frustrating when I wanted to keep our original number in the first place!

I’ve been on hold for an hour at a time but can’t get through to anyone, I’ve messaged too but no replies?? Hopefully this will get a response?

A line port can only happen when  both lines are active hence why having a temporary number, once your line is active it will take 10 working days for your previous supplier to complete the line port.
