Phone Line not working

Hi,

My phone line has been dead since this morning. I'm unable to make any calls out and have no dial tone. Incoming calls receive a busy tone and can't get through. Checking the virgin website it says there are no known faults in my area but if I attempt to run a test it hangs at 99% and doesn't complete.

I'd appreciate if someone could take a look at this and find out what the issue is.

Thanks!

Re: Phone Line not working

Hi Dru,

Thanks for posting on the community.

I have checked your line and I can confirm that your line is currently being affected by a fault in the area.

This has already been raised and you should be able to keep up to date on faults and fix times on our service status checker here.

Apologies for any inconvenience this is causing at the moment.

Re: Phone Line not working

Hi Manipleman,

Thanks for posting!

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your landline too.

I've run diagnostics on your line and everything is looking clear on the network. Are you able to try another handset in the socket? This is just to make sure the handset isn't causing the fault.

Speak soon

Josh

Re: Phone Line not working

Hi,

I have the same problem as Dru, phone line engaged if I try to ring it and no dial tone if I try to ring out. First noticed this last night and still not working today. Tried to run the test several times and it keeps sticking at 99%.

Is this a known problem in my area as well, GL2 4NW, as the service status shows no problems?

Paul

Re: Phone Line not working

Hi psheward,

Thanks for letting us know about this on the community.

I have checked your line and it's currently showing blocked so before I arrange for a technician I'd just like to confirm whether you've tried another handset in the Virgin Media socket?

Hope to hear from you soon

Re: Phone Line not working

Hi psheward,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Next I'd like to arrange for a technician to resolve this for you so I'm just going to pop you a private message which you will find if you click on the purple envelope at the top right of the screen.

Talk to you soon
