Phone Connection

Hi there, I’ve had Virgin for almost 4 years and have only recently decided to set up my landline. Upon buying a phone I found that I don’t have a telephone port installed in my house and the incoming Virgin line doesn’t have one underneath it - so I ordered a BT to RJ11 and plugged it into the router but I’m not getting a dial tone. Have I done something wrong?

FYI, this is the phone I’m using:

Re: Phone Connection

Yes, you need to get the service changed to a 21cv line to use the hub as a phoneline

Re: Phone Connection

Thanks jb66, one quick question - how do I do that? Is it as simple as calling Virgin?

Re: Phone Connection

You can call Virgin to report a fault, they will send a technician to fix your old line, the technician may offer to convert your line to the new style rather than installing a socket as its easier
