We have currently had our landline disconnected for around a year and our recent bill it racked up over £20 in phone calls in the last month but checking records it’s spanned on for longer. The calls are made to random universities which makes no sense. Phoned up virgin for assistance and they made my mother cry saying the calls came from the phone and wouldn’t’ do anything to assist us. So I’m looking for some help here please! Losing hope.

You need to prove you are not making the calls. The easiest way to do this is to plug a phone in & try using it. The likely scenario is a crossed line in the local cabinet, resulting in your line being used by another customer in the vicinity. If you connect a phone & do not get a dial tone then you could not have made the calls.

Hello themanfromhell
Thanks for your first post and welcome to our Community.
Sorry to hear our Customer Service Team upset your Mother when she was enquiring about the call charges.
We can arrange a Technician to visit check for a crossed line.
Once that has been completed, then I can work out a refund for call charges.
I will also need to raise a complaint for the above reasons.
If you don't mind, I will need to send you a private message to pass security.
If you can check the purple envelope top right of your screen that would be great.
Regards
