Number not ported after 6 weeks of complaining

Hello,

My landline number has not been ported and I was told 8 weeks ago it will be ported over in 10 working days.

After complaining repeatedly, today I was told that my number port request was never put in, which is ridiculous. 

Can anyone help me get my number back?

vm can request this again as long as the old number is still active and no cancelation request is on the old number

Thank you for your response. 

Is there a direct number I can call to request this?

Also, what's frustrating is that I put in a formal complaint 18 days ago and virgin media hasn't responded. I've also complained using resolver but still no response.

Can the forum team port my number for me?

they have 28 days to respond to complaints. the forum team might be able to arrange this but it can take them about a week to reply.

The number is just the normal CS number. No direct numbers

Thank you. 

Can the forum team assist me with the number port?

Because when calling in I am having to explain it all to every new customer service agent and it's becoming frustrating.

I am sorry to hear that you have not had your number ported as of yet. 

 

Are you able to confirm, Is your landline number still active with your old provider?

Thank you Zak_M for getting back to me.

My old landline provider was virgin media.

It was a virgin media to virgin media switch.

The account holder was moving into a care home and so the account needed to be switched to my name.

I had called virgin media to see if this is possible if not I was going to switch to Vodafone.

The virgin media customer rep had said this is normal practice and they can do this switch and my old landline number would be linked to my new virgin media account on the day of activation which was the next day.

But now 7 weeks on my landline number has not switched and I'm bring told different things by different people. The last customer service rep said virgin media to virgin media number port isn't possible. If this is correct then I've been lied to by the first virgin media rep probably because he didn't want me signing up to Vodafone.

Can you please advise whether I'll get my old number back because I read online the landline wouldn't be assigned to anyone else until 6 months have lapsed. Hopefully you can attach my number ASAP and resolve this. It has been very problematic and distressing. 

Please let me know.

We can certainly have a closer look and see if it can be done, but we need to check the accounts first.
