After a good fault-free run I discovered today that there's no dial tone on the home phone, and possibly hasn't been since Wednesday 25 October. Callers to the number get a ringing tone but there's no sound at this end so potentially have missed several calls. All connections are secure; the problem is common to both the cordless phones and an old-style corded phone attached to the same socket. Service status checks via virginmedia.com and 0800 561 0061 do not detect any problem. Assistance appreciated.
