No dial tone.

Hello, I use virgin media for both broadband and telephone.

Today, the dial tone suddenly stopped where as the broadband works perfectly fine. I cannot make a call to the telephone from my mobile. The telephone connects to the socket directly. Looking online shows that there are no known issues and running the tests shows that there are no faults with our equipment. However when i unplug the socket and run the tests again, the test still shows no faults indicating that the test seems to not be testing anything. 

I have managed to book an engineer for Wednesday but would appreciate it if there were anything else I can try before that.

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issues with your landline. 

 

With having no dial tone it is something that an engineer will need to come and correct. There isn't anything else we would be able to assist you with from here. 

 

Sit tight and the engineer will be able to get this resolved.
