No dial tone - phone not working

Tried everything but nothing working 

 

Need someone to help, and have been trying the helpline calling from my mobile all week, waiting 90 minutes each time. 

Please can this grab Virgin's attention to look into! 

]no incoming or outgoing calls can be made

Hi Helpmeet_730,

Thanks for using the forums to get this issue with your landline looked into, I am sorry if this no dial tone problem is causing some disruption and frustration. I have a link here which helps to troubleshoot issues such as this in regards to landlines, could you have a look and let me know if it helps? 

Also, can I ask when this issue first occurred?

How is your landline connected to power, by the mains or extension lead?

Thanks for getting back to me, I followed the link and get the errror: 

Looks like there's no phone connected

Our test indicates that there's no phone connected to its dock. This is not necessarily a fault, as some modern devices can look like this during tests.

 

I have connected the phone into the virgin media phone area in the wall , it's the same place where the optical fibre cable goes.

Additionally, my landline is connected to the mains by a single plug. no extension cable.

Looks like we need to investigate further

Thanks for doing that test for me, I am sorry it didn't come back with any solid resolution for you. 

Can I ask if your broadband is working at the moment? Our phones need a broadband connection in order to work properly, so I just want to make sure this is okay too.

My broadband is working properly. 

 

No issues with it. I have tried all the trouble shutting extensively too.

Hi helpmeet_730,

 

Thanks for replying, can you clarify if you are connecting the landline to the hub or to a wall socket? Your services show as a docsis connection, so it should be connected to the hub.

I'm connected to the wall...

Can I be sent the cables to cinnrct to the hub please?

When I got my fibre broadband and hub they didn't leave the box or provide anything for phone. No cables, attachment or adapters
